Google have been secretly working on it's autonomus car, and after a long testing, Google car shows that it has drived for more than million kilometer without a major damage.
Now the self-driving car is invited to be tested in the city of Montain View, the head Google's self-driving-car project, Chris Urmson said in his blog that "A mile of city driving is much more complex than a mile of freeway driving, with hundreds of differently objects moving according to different rules of the road in a small area".
How it works
Detecting obstacle is based on a laser radar system that lets software create detailed 3-D maps of the surroundings.
Many people are not comfortable with the idea of letting a car drive it self, to ensure people with the car capabilities, Chris Urmson wrote "A self-driving vehicle can pay attention to all of these things in a way that a human physically can't, and it never gets tired or distracted."
The project may take few years to become marketed. But it is interestin anyway, because you can get some sleep while the car is driving it self :D !
