Google is Studying Genetics In A New Big Medical Project

Google Glass, Google car, Google Loon and others.. These projects signed Google were all developed by Google X, a laboratory that works on the wildest ideas of the group. Now Xlabs are working on a new project called BaselineStudy that is supposed to make a revolution in the world of health and medicine.

The project is currently assembling a number of 80 medical experts guided by the doctor Andrew Conrad, one of the creators of a HIV detection test.

The study wants to detect diseases like cancer before even happening ! , through a clinic, Google will collect samples of genetic and molecular data of anonymous volunteers. The collecting operation has already begun with 175 persons that gave their data like urine, blood, saliva and tears, a strong database that will allow to Google to detect bio-markers thanks to its strong computing power. Google will detect disease's symptoms before happening, and try to prevent them.

The Wall Street Magazine expressed its concerns about the confidentiality of people's data, but Google affirmed that they will not transfer these data to insurance companies..

Baseline is not the only medical project in Google, in fact, Apple launched Calico in association with Google, a project to confront aging and its associated diseases.

Jaguar and Land Rover Want To Display Your Cars DATA Directly On Your Windshield

Many developments and evolutions has been made to car's dashboards in the last few years to change the way you interact with your car and multimedia devices. but Jaguar came up with a whole new way to display car's Data and that is directly on the windshield !

Features

In order to reduce your distraction off the road while driving, Jaguar is going to display the car speed, temperature, navigation graphics, and more Data, all on the windshield. and this is going to increase the driver's concentration. Also, the new system will includes displaying both racing line and braking guidance as well as virtual cones and ghost cars for more performance in the races and sport activities.

This is not all, you will also get rid of the use of buttons to access and control the dashboard, instead, a simple pre-programmed gestures and motions will offer you a full control of the system, which will reduce the physical button's number.

Dr. Wolfgang Epple, Director of Research and Technology, said: ""We have identified which functions still need to be controlled by physical buttons and which could be controlled by gesture and carefully calibrated motion sensors,The system is currently being tested on a number of features including sun-blinds, rear wipers and satellite navigation maps. It has the potential to be on sale within the next few years".

As an extension to this project, researchers are tending to replace the rear view mirrors with virtual displays, showing a 3D images provided by cameras using The Eye-tracking technology..

There is a no fixed date to release this project, but we would hopefully be able to use this technology soon.

The FBI Have A Problem With Autonomous Cars

The FBI announced that they are scared from the Google autonomous Car, they said that it can affect citizen security because it can be used by criminals and malicious users.. many possibilities are presented about the bad use of the autonomous car.

According to an FBI report, there are many bad ways to use the Google autonomous Car, the driver can escape the police without having to look to the street, and in this way he can use his hands to hold a weapon and easily use it ! Also, detection and automatic guidance systems will also let criminals avoid obstacles and look for a good place to hide, and that will give a difficult task to the police..

another scary scenario unveiled by the FBI, the autonomous cars can be the remotely programmed to go to a wanted destination loaded with explosives, the car can be also hacked to make different actions like kidnapping...

Google I/O 2014: Drive With Google, Android Auto Is Official

Google has unveiled Android Auto, the Android OS version designed for connected cars. Car manufacturers can integrate this system in their vehicles to give the users the privilege of connecting their smartphones and display their phone screen on the car multimedia screen.

Functionalities 

Not all of the driver's smartphone's functionalities can be imported to the car display, only features provided by the Android Auto OS are reachable, the user can use GPS, phone, music.... The great thing is that you can update those Apps only using your smartphone, it is a full control on your multimedia experience.

Of course navigating between your apps will be using a touchscreen on your car, but, that's not all, Google is introducing voice commands that will help you not to move your eyes off the road. Also you can consult your SMS directly on your car screen, and voice assistant will read the messages for you so you wont be distracted..

The most useful App could be Google Maps that can help you navigating to your destinations, Google has made a little improvement to the App and included a voice assistance to help you make your trip.

Google has also unveiled the Android Auto SDK for developers that can develop their own Audio and SMS Apps, also, many partners has joined Google in this project including the French car manufacturer Renault.

Google is Ready to launch Satellites to Bring Internet to the World !

Google is using every possible way to bring the internet to the world, fibers, loons, drones... Now it's the satellite's role to bring you internet.

Now, the world counts 6.8 billions of people, but 3 billions of them have not access to the internet, so it will be a big deal to google to increase its number

of clients, and continue to its project of becoming an Internet provider to the world.

The previous year, Google announced that it is using controllable flying balloons under a project named "Google Loons" to provide High speed internet to emerging countries, and recently, google has finally acquired Titan Aerospace, a company that produce orbital drones powered by solar energy, those drones can fly up to 12 miles, and last for 5 years in the sky, it is an extension to the project loons, with the same objective to bring the internet to the world.

Titan Aerospace was going to be acquired by Facebook, but, Google had the final word.

Today, the Wall Street magazin unveiled the Google will launch 180 satellites powered by solar energy and floating in low altitudes to bring high speed internet, a speed that can reach 1 GB per second, the same technology adopted by Titan Aerospace will be used in satellites, and the same team will work on this new project which will cost google about 1 billion dollars.

This project and the drone project are expected to be commercialized in 2015.

Google Officially Unveiling its self-driving car

Google has officialy unveiled its autonomous car, after 4 years of work, it is obvious that it's not the previously tested Toyota, Google made its own design.

Description

The google self-driving car does not contain any gas or break pedals, and it does not contain a steering wheel ! , all you have to do is to push  a button and let the car drive you wherever you want, it works based on detailed street maps provided by google, the car contains only two passengers seats and a space for your belongings, a screen in front of the driver is installed to show the him where the car is going in real time.

The car will be an electric one, with an autonomy of 110 miles, and the design looks a lot like a cartoon car.

Google wrote its blog "We've been working toward the goal of vehicles that can shoulder the entire burden of driving,They will take you where you want to go at the push of a button. And that's an important step toward improving road safety and transforming mobility for millions of people."

Safety

The google car should be safe, because this idea kan freak-out the future users, so, google implemented sensors to analyse the street, look in all direction to detect obstacle and eliminate blind spots, the car speed will be limited to 25 mph at first, matter of security.

A limited numbers of google cars will be tested soon in streets of California, since only 4 US states allows autonomous cars on public roads California, Michigan, Nevada and Florida, and it if succeed, Google will continue on improving the car options and power...

This project could be your future transport tool, you just have to wait a little more.

Google Bike to be lunched soon !

Like the Google car, the Google bike is a self driving bike that integrates almost the same sensors contained in the Google car, of course with a lower cost. Those sensors helps the bike to keep its balance.

The main idea is to make cars drivers abandon their cars when driving for short distances, which will reduce the traffic jam inside the cities.

The Google bike can keep the passenger in balance for many hours without even treadling or holding the handlebars.

If you want to get somewhere, you can just enter your arrival point on Google maps and let the bike do the rest !

Getting a Google be bike will be by reserving it through an Android application, and the bike will come to you driving itself !

Google autonomous car is more certain

Google have been secretly working on it's autonomus car, and after a long testing, Google car shows that it has drived for more than million kilometer without a major damage.

Now the self-driving car is invited to be tested in the city of Montain View, the head Google's self-driving-car project, Chris Urmson said in his blog that "A mile of city driving is much more complex than a mile of freeway driving, with hundreds of differently objects moving according to different rules of the road in a small area".

How it works
Detecting obstacle is based on a laser radar system that lets software create detailed 3-D maps of the surroundings.

Many people are not comfortable with the idea of letting a car drive it self, to ensure people with the car capabilities, Chris Urmson wrote "A self-driving vehicle can pay attention to all of these things in a way that a human physically can't, and it never gets tired or distracted."
The project may take few years to become marketed. But it is interestin anyway, because you can get some sleep while the car is driving it self :D !
