Google Glass Will Be Controlled By Your Mind Activities And Thoughts

Info

Right now, there are two ways to control your Google Glass, swiping the touch-pad with your fingers, and via your voice commands, but this is not all.
A British start-up called This Place has created an App "MindRDR", that once installed on your Google Glass, you will have the ability to control actions just via your thoughts !

How it Works

In fact, the MindRDR App will not operate alone, an additional accessory will be connected to the glasses, it is a brainwaves sensor that will receive your brain activities and transform them into a electroencephalogram, then, send it to be analyzed by the MinRDR App, this sensor in designed by NeuroSky.

What Can You Do With It ?

Until now, using the MindRDR you can only take pictures and share them to social networks, without the need of using your hand, you have just to focus on your target and decide to make a picture, and its done ! Of course, the App will be improved and many other functionalities will be added to build an extraordinary experience that will make you control your actions with your thoughts.

Dusan Hamlin, the CEO of This Place said "Google Glass is one of the world’s most recognizable and popular pieces of wearable technology, but after getting our hands on it, we saw huge potential to incorporate EEG technology so it benefits the wider society,We wanted to realize the true potential of Glass by allowing users to control it with their minds."

Availability

The MindRDR App is available for users for free, but the brainwaves sensor will cost you an extra $130, for now, you can download the App from here.

A Mood Sensing Blanket In The British Airways First Class

British Airways have gone a little far to see if their first class customers are satisfied with their services and flights, and they are going to use a smart blanket !

The British Airways wants to call it the happiness blanket, this smart blanket changes colors based on your mood, so if you'r feeling relaxed, the blanket color will be blue, if you'r stressed it will be a red color that will warn the plane staff so they can take care of you and make you comfortable, also if you are just a little stressed, the blanket color will turn to purple.

How It Works

The passenger should wear a comfortable headband that contains a number of sensors to monitor his brain activities and detect his stress. The headband communicates with the smart blanket which is made of fiber optics via Bluetooth, and transmit data to it, then, the blanket react and changes colors based on the sent informations.

Maybe we will be seeing this happiness blanket in our houses, so you can tell if your wife or husband is stressed ! :D

The First Synthetic Blood Vessels Successfully Created Using 3D Bioprinting Techniques

Using 3D bioprinting techniques, Scientists in Boston have created the first artificial synthetic blood vessels.
Boston's researchers said that they have first of all created the mold of the vessels using a fiber template from a naturally derived sugar based molecule called agarose. After that, the mold was contained in a substance like gelatin called hydrogel to create the synthetic blood vessels.

Ali Khademhosseini, the lead researcher on the project said: "Engineers have made incredible strides in making complex artificial tissues such as those of the heart, liver and lungs,”

The nature of blood vessels is extremely delicate, and the difficult part was getting the synthetic vessel's makeup.

To perform the main functions of the blood vessels, the inner walls of the vessels are bordered with endothelium, which is created from endothelial cells.
The endothelial cells performs the following functions: trafficking hormones, filtering fluids, hemostatis, and more...

Although this great creation, the transplantation of this blood vessels in humans organs still years away from reality, Ali Khademhosseini said: "We're far away from humans, but I think the technology would be translatable."

Mind Mirror, A System To Watch Your Brain Activity in Real Time !

Thanks the electro-encephalography associated to the Augmented Reality, French researchers in INRIA and INSA unveiled a new interesting
device that can give you the possibility to watch your brain activity on "live".

The device is composed with an electro-encephalography headset connected to a computer, the headset collect your brain informations via electrodes,
and transmit them to a silvered mirror screen in which you can see yourself, at the same time, the person wearing the headset is  filmed with a 3D camera (the Kinect of Microsoft) and a webcam.

All you have to do is to wear the headset, and see your face and body in the mirror, and watch the brain part changing its colors depending on your
activities.

Anatole Lecuyer, the researcher's team leader said that a blue color indicates that you are in a relaxing state, if the color turns to red, that's because you are concentrating.

The Mind Mirror can be used in many fields such as Psychology and Medical field, to improve your brain activity.
You Will Be Able To Control Your Dreams !

After 15 years of studies, a German group of researchers have just reported results of experiments applied on human subjects, to give them the possibility to control their dreams in the paradoxical sleep (REM sleep) phase.

it's during this phase that you can remember your dreams, it is the period when your brain is half a sleep, that you can control your dreams, and shape your thoughts.

Researchers have arrived to provoke the REM sleep phase by stimulating the electrical brain activity with different frequencies between 25 and 40 Hz.

The human subjects indicated that they have better control on actions in their dreams after a stimulation of 25 Hz, they can change their way out from a room or change places...

The researchers said that they are doing this stimulation without making side effects on their subjects.

This study can be helpful in many treatments like the schizophrenia, it could be also possible to relieve victims from their stress and help patient having nightmares...

Maybe someday, we will be able to make our own dreams like in the movies "Inception" and "Vanilla Sky" !
