This Guy Decided To Live Another Person's Life Through A VR Headset

Did you ever thought of living someone else's life ?, i think some of you did, maybe you dreamed of living some rich or famous person's life, well, this guy is going to do it for 28 days, and through a Virtual Reality headset. How is that !

Mark, a British conceptual artist, will wear a VR headset for 28 days and he will stay in a locked room, he is going to try living another man's life who, lets name him John. For 28 days, John will record every moment of his life, even going to toilet, the recorded video will be given to Mark so he can watch it via the VR headset, the video in recorded 6 days in advance, so there is no real time connection between the two persons.

Mark, the British artist, is not allowed to do anything but eating, showering, and entering the bathroom, but, he can do it only when John does ! otherwise, Mark should be locked inside his room, and the only human contact he can make is with his psychologist for an hour a day.

This dangerous experience can leave him mentally altered for the rest of his life !, but he is going to do it trying to explore whether humans are moulded by their environment or pre-programmed by their genes ! A debate and a question that was asked by many philosophers like Descartes through the human history.

The TrinityVR Magnum Controller, A New Controller For The Oculus Rift

Even if we still away from using VR headsets and the idea is still strange to most of the people, companies are constantly working on making an evolution on the virtual reality world.

TrinityVR is a startup that came with an interesting product to be used with the Oculus Rift headset, it is called the Trinity Magnum and it is in the form of a gun. The Trinity Magnum will act instead of a mouse in the computer, it will be used as a gun or a joystick in video games, because a normal mouse will not give you a full VR experience.

The co-founder of TrinityVR said: "What drove us to this solution, being early adopters of the Oculus Rift, was I was trying to play shooters like Half-Life 2 and Team Fortress 2 in VR. I would have my hands on the mouse and keyboard, and I'd lose the concept of where all these keys were. It was very clumsy, and I kept knocking things over".

The Magnum controller is a two hand device based on your hands motion, it contains a light-up silicon bulb that will make it tracked by the VR headset camera, it also contains a trigger, joystick and several buttons to make it usable with other gaming devices like the Xbox 360.

The Magnum controller will be available for shipment in December, and it will cost you $99 if you want to get it !

Google Cardboard, A Weird VR Headset Made With a Cardboard !

Is it a way to show off and  mock the Oculus VR, maybe yes, and maybe not, but Google has made it's own fun VR headset using a CardBoard ! , when Sundar Pichai said that everyone at the Google I/O conference would get a “Cardboard,” you couldn't tell either he is serious or not, but the surprise was that everyone got a CardBoard, that once

assembled, it transformed to a virtual reality headset !

How To Use It

The Google CardBoard allow you to create your own VR headset using your Android smartphone, users can assemble their Cardboard kits which contains some lenses, two strips of velcro, magnets, and a rubber band. But, dont expect the same quality of the Oculus Rift VR, it is just an experimental headset, all you need is to download the Cardboard App from the Google Play store and slip your smartphone inside the CardBoard and wear it, and enjoy virtual reality with moving your head around and watching your smartphone screen.
