Facebook is going to launch A New Functionality Similar to Shazam

Facebook have announced that it will integrate a new functionality in its Android and iOS application, that can recognize the music you are listening to, or the TV series, movies and programs you are watching.

How it works

For example you are listening to a new song on your phone, the Facebook App will automatically detect it after about 15 seconds using your microphone, and then suggest to you to share it publicly with your friends, you have just to click the share button.

Facebook said also that you can disable this functionality to block the access to your microphone, if you don't want Facebook to listen to your conversations !

To create this new functionality, Facebook have signed a partnerships with 160 TV channels and with many music services such as Spotify.

This will let Facebook increase its publicity incomes which already represents 59% of its revenues.
