A Canadian laboratory in the Queen's university has unveiled a new smartphone project containing three foldable and detachable screens made with the technology electronic ink (e-ink).

The prototype is called "PaperFold", and until this moment, the technology used (e-ink) can only display a black and white picture, maybe an LCD or an OLED display could be integrated soon to see colors on the screen.

The PaperFold can be used to see a bigger picture if you spread it on the three screens, you can also use one tile as a touch-pad, the other as a screen
and the third as a backing for the screen...

The smartphone is still a prototype, and it can be improved in the future by the Canadian laboratory (Human Media Lab), who is already working on
improving flexible screens.
